We had a playdate on Saturday with the Kaos and the Tsaos at a Los Altos park.  Michelle has been telling me about this great park by their house.  It has playgrounds, a sandpit and a little creek for the kids to play in.  Unfortunately the creek was dried out this time, but the kids had a great time with everything else it offered.  We played, snacked and played again.  After being there for 2.5 hours, we all left to dine at an Italian restaurant.  On the way to the restaurant, we asked Logan if we had a good time, he said “no, because I was shy”, but we knew that he did have fun.  While we waited for the dinner, Logan was happy playing with the crayons and coloring papers Michelle brought to share.  We actually did not have to take out my iphone for videos to get Logan to eat more food until toward the end.  Connor was quite content sitting in his booster seat the entire time as long as I continuously gave him a bite of food.  Fortunately I was prepared with lots of things for him to sample.  After the enjoyable dinner, we all headed home to put the kids to bed and they were exhausted.  Logan even told us during the drive that it was late and it was time to go to bed.

     Sunday was the annual Kaiser picnic, and it was also a farewell party for Jennifer.  We arrived to the park on time to help set up the event with Robyn and Dave.  It was a good turn out this year.  The grilling was done by Lawrence and Dave, and the food was delicious.  Logan hung out with daddy a lot and watched the actions on the sideline as usual, but appeared “less shy” today.  He played with the frisbee, kicked the soccer ball and played with the water balloons for a little bit.  He also said bye to everyone as daddy requested.  Connor was more clingy to me, and did not really want to go to Daddy, but that was probably because he knew I had the food.  He was eating a majority of the time there.  He loved the fried chicken Julie brought, and he ate lots of gold fish and watermelon too.  He was quite happy and smiled to almost everyone.  Both boys took a two-hour nap after the fun 3+ hours in the park.

     Yesterday on Wednesday, we received another call from daycare reporting Connor was experiencing another fever.  The teacher stated that Connor was not acting like his usual self, so they decided to keep checking his temperature.  Finally by noontime, he got a 101.3.  Connor had an episode of high temperature (100.5) last Wednesday too.  He had a runny nose last week, and this week he had a mild cough, but other than those, Connor has been looking well to us.  Stuart went to pick him up from daycare and spent the rest of the day with him.  Connor did fine and ate quite well.  This week the fever temp again was reached (per daycare), Connor had to stay home again today on Thursday.  Stuart was able to take the day off to spend with him. 

     Connor did very well according to Stuart.  They went for walks, chatted with neighbors, shopped at Frys, and even paid me a visit at work.  Connor was very happy staying in our office while entertaining me, Michelle and Paula with his smiles.  The visit really brightened up my busy day.  Connor also did well taking his naps after Stuart just put him down in the crib.  He only cried a couple of minutes before falling asleep.  I think Stuart has just earned himself a new task over the weekend from now on.

     In the late afternoon, Connor had a great time hanging out with a bunch of neighbors/kids at a impromptu front yard playdate.  We noticed that Connor is making progress in learning to walk.  He is making bigger steps and walking slightly faster while holding one of our hands.  He also loves to stand by himself.  I love the way he flips his hands up in the air to prove that he was not holding anything and he always has a big proud smile on his face.  We also realized that he understands us well too.  After dinner tonight, he would let go and stand every time when I told him to “stand”.  He is able to stand like 1/2 minute each time now and perform multiple tasks too.  He was watching and laughing at Logan, and was taking Duplo pieces apart while standing.  He was loving it!
