Dora and Robb wanted to go to SF on Friday; since it was rainy, I decided to go with them and leave the boys at home with Stuart who had to check in on work. First, we walked around Golden Gate Bridge, then we went to have lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf. It was raining quite hard, but we managed to walk around with umbrellas. We walked around Pier 39 to look for the sea lions, and they were definitely still there rain or shine. Next we headed over to the Ghirardelli Square. Dora and Robb shared a sundae, and I enjoyed a mocha. With that, we wrapped up our city tour, and we drove home in the heavy rain.

Since the rain stopped on Saturday, we headed over to the Henry Cowell Redwoods to hike. It was beautiful there, and all of us, including the boys, enjoyed a nice stroll. We also looked for banana slugs; Connor claimed that he had found 10 of them. Afterward we had lunch at In N Out for Robb. That evening Robb left us to fly home.

The rest of the time we took it easy with Dora. The boys and us watched a movie at home, The Greatest Showman, and we all liked it. We made a trip to T4U. We had a hotpot dinner at home requested by Connor. On Monday I stayed home from work to spend time with Dora. We went shopping; we bought some clothes and Logan scored the most. We then went to see a great movie, A Star is Born. We enjoyed having Dora with us for this holiday.

We signed up for the local turkey trot, Run Turkey Run, again. This year, Dora and Robb joined us, and they arrived on Wednesday night. We were lucky that it rained on Wednesday to clean up the horrible air and we had a beautiful and dry Thursday. Bright and early that morning, we woke up and got ready. First we watched Dora and Robb off on their 10K. Then it was our turn; Logan was ready to run and Connor also wanted to break his record. Connor and I initially kept up with Logan and Stuart quite well, but we got tired. Later Connor was bothered by his shorts; he was so uncomfortable that he almost wanted to quit. I managed to talk and distracted Connor enough to keep him going. On our last stretch, Logan, Dora and Robb, who had finished their race, walked back from the finish line to find us. They encouraged Connor to start running again, and thus he and I were able to speed through and completed our 5K. Logan did well. According to Stuart, Logan went all the way, and he even passed Stuart at the end. He totally broke his record, and he managed an awesome 10 minute-mile. Dora and Robb did extremely well. Dora got the first place for her age group, and Robb got 3rd for his. So we waited for the award ceremony, and they both earned their medals before we all walked home.

I, with some help from Dora, prepared our Thanksgiving meal in the afternoon while we also rested after the race. We had an early dinner; we enjoyed it very much and we were all stuffed the rest of the day. The boys were happy to have video game time on and off all day, and we also played a board game with Dora and Robb too. We all enjoyed this nice day.

I finally remembered to ask Logan’s teacher to share some pictures from the camp, and she shared a slide show.

I went to Logan’s class on Monday to help out. They learned about water and pollution, and they made a filter to clean the water afterward.

The boys were invited to Maxim’s on Sunday morning. After playing for 3 hours, we came home for lunch and had a quiet time. Connor ended up napping for at least 30 minutes. I had to wake him so I could take him to his 3rd STEM workshop. For the two hours, Connor and the other kids learned and worked with electricity. When we picked him up, he was proud to tell us that they had fun and none of the kids got electrocuted. From there, we drove straight to the Kaos’ for dinner. It had been a long time since we caught up with Michelle and Ted, and the boys also had fun playing with Mckayla and Marcus. After a nice hotpot dinner, the boys were happy to show Marcus how to play Fortnite. This was a fun packed day.

With the poor air quality, we could not do much so it allowed us time to work on the backyard the past 2 weekends. Stuart and I, with a mask on, sanded the wood and re-stained it. This weekend I worked on the other side and Connor helped me sand part of it too. Our little project made our backyard a bit cleaner.
