Tennis classes

I signed the boys up for tennis lessons that are just 1.5 hours each morning for 3 weeks of weekdays.  They are group lessons with bunch of other kids.  The boys do not seem to mind these classes.  During each class, they do some drills, play games and have some conditioning too.  Last weekend we played with the boys on Saturday.  They actually suggested to play a game of double; Stuart and I were so impressed how well they both were playing.  They could get some serves in and they were not as nervous up at the net.  Logan and I were leading the match for awhile, but Stuart and Connor even had a major comeback and won with 7 vs 5.

Here was the winning team:

Logan’s Promotion Ceremony

image   On the last day of school, 6/9/2022, I dropped Logan off back at school at 3:30pm, then Stuart and Connor walked over shortly after to join me for the ceremony at 4pm.  The stage and hundreds of chairs were all set up at the quad.  The ceremony began with the students marching out onto the stage; after a few nice speeches, the teachers started announcing the graduates one by one. Finally Logan was called, he walked up to receive the certificate, shake the Principle’s hand and had his picture taken.  While we were sitting in the heat, Connor counted the names of graduates in the announcement pamphlet and there were 292 graduates.  We remained seated until the commencement came to an end and all the graduates returned to the gym.  It took quite a long time, especially when we were waiting in the heat, before we finally found Logan in the sea of people.  We gave Logan a lei and a teddy bear to congratulate him.  We took pictures of us and with Logan and Cole.  Then we were exhausted being in the heat and did not hang around.  Now we have a 9th grader entering high school!

Promotion Night

The 8th graders had their promotion night “dance” last Friday. Logan did not want to attend initially but we convinced him that he did not want to miss out.  When Friday came along, I went to school in the afternoon to help set up.  My friend Lisa was the lead organizer for this event, and she did a great job.  It was so wonderful seeing what the kids would experience that night.  They had a dance floor with a DJ playing music, arcade games and a photo both at the gym, dining tables set up in the quad with taco bars and a chocolate fountain. Finally they would have a balloon drop to wrap up the evening.

I went home to get Logan ready and took him there. Many kids arrived all dressed up with beautiful dresses and in suits too.  They all looked so excited to have a great in-person celebration together.  I saw Logan off walking toward a group of friends he knew, then I took off.

I went to Theresa’s house after to hang with the girls.  During the whole night, I was looking forward to find out how Logan enjoyed the night.  Finally at 9pm, Stuart shared that Logan texted him to let him know that he would walk home with Cole and he had a GREAT time.  The next day Lisa also texted me a couple of pics and the video of the balloon drop; glad to know that everyone had a good night.

New clubs and driving range

Connor also outgrew his kid set of clubs, so Stuart had to re-arrange both boys’ clubs.  Now they have clubs that fit them and Connor got a new bag too.  We went to the driving range on Memorial’s day to work on our swings and putting.  Both boys were quite engaged and did well there.
