At midnight, Logan cried again and his fever was back, 102.  So once again, he stayed home today.  It was my day off, but I did have many appointments made for today.  I hung out with the kids in the morning while Stuart caught up with work, then I took Connor to school just right before my appointment for Logan’s 2nd parent-teacher conference.  After that, I returned home to take over Logan, so Stuart could continue working without distraction.  After eating lunch and putting Logan to nap, I sneaked out to go to Connor’s new school to register.  They were now able to confirm a spot for Connor for August.  It was a nice to finally have both kids’ schools set and ready.

    I was able to take a quick nap before Logan woke up.  Before long, I had to take off again for an eye appointment, and to pick up Connor from school.  We played in the front yard for a little bit, then we started an early dinner.  Stuart had his first basketball night of the season, so we wanted to move up the evening schedule.  The separate baths and bedtime readings went well.  After I read to Logan and said goodnight, I realized that Connor sat back up.  Stuart had just left after putting Connor down.  I went back in to check on Connor, and all he wanted was laying his head on my shoulder.  I finally had to just let him cried it out as Logan was restless too.  I ended up going in to talk with Logan four times, and to check on Connor twice.  By 8:40, both kids finally were asleep which had passed the usual bedtime. 

    Logan sounded a bit congested, had just a few coughs and no more fever today.  But he looked sick as his eyes were tired and poofy.  His appetite was definitely not as good as usual; he did not ask for any snacks at all the past 2 days.  Hope he is better tomorrow and his fever won’t return again.

    After having fun at the birthday party yesterday, we drove home to take a nap.  Logan was in good mood; he read a book with daddy, then took his nap.  Two hours later he woke up and joined us to watch some TV.  As I was hugging him, I discovered that Logan was burning hot.  We were so surprised by this fever (102.2) as Logan had been 100% well the whole weekend.  He had a cup of milk, and finally agreed to take a pill of ibuprofen.  We kept Logan in low key activity the rest of the afternoon.  He went down to sleep as usual without any complaint.  But he woke up close to 11pm and cried for daddy.  Logan’s temperature was up again.  I had to look for some acetaminophen for him this time; Stuart had to convince him to take it.  Stuart gave him more water and put cold compresses on his forehead.  I decided to stay with Logan through the night to make sure he cooled down, so I took over once I got ready for bed.  Logan was looking very flushed, but he was happy that I slept with him.  During the night, he started to have a few coughs, and they were barky sounding too.  The fever finally came down, so we both slept comfortably for a few hours.  By 5am, Logan asked for water and I realized that he was warm again.  I tried to offer another dose of acetaminophen, but Logan declined until Stuart came over to talk him into it.  We were able to catch a little more sleep before we woke up at the usual morning hour. 

    Because of the fever, Logan had to stay home with daddy today, so I took Connor to school and went to work.  Logan had a mild cough and a slight runny nose today, but appeared fine otherwise; his temperature also came down during the day.  Logan had a good day with daddy; they watched some TV, played Mario Kart together, did some workbook, played in a fort, took a walk in the yard and went out for a quick grocery pickup.  I talked with Logan a couple of times over the phone; and he continued to tell me that he was sick.  Everyone ate well at dinner, and the separate bath went smoothly.  Logan did not feel warm at bedtime.  After reading, Logan asked for ice for his face, then he asked Stuart to tell “Tell mommy that I am not warm but hot”.  I think he was trying to get some TLC again, but fortunately he went to sleep without further complaints. 

    We went to Rohan’s birthday party today at their house; everyone in Logan’s class was invited, and everyone was there.  The weather was not too bad, sunny but still a bit chilly.  They had a bouncy house, and of course, they had a house full of toys.  Everyone jumped into the bouncy house as soon as they arrived, but Logan was hesitant.  Even Stuart entered it to encourage, but Logan continued to decline.  We just finally let him do whatever he wanted, so Logan went to play with trains.  Connor followed Logan wherever he went.  The order of events were a bit strange; we had some fruits, then cake and at last some pizza.  The kids took breaks in between playing to eat.  Logan finally wanted in the bouncy house when some of the kids were out eating.  Connor had some fun jumping too. 

    Stuart was so happy when he finally decided to purchase the childhood game he and his brother used to play, Subbuteo.  The remaining set finally arrived yesterday, so as soon as the kids went down for the night, Stuart was excited to set it up to play.  He taught me the basic rules, and we began to play.  The first game we stopped a lot as Stuart had to do some explanation, and he scored 1:0.  The second game I actually made a goal, but of course, Stuart caught up to 1:1 shortly after.  Toward the end, I felt that Stuart took an advantage of me being a novice, and scored on me again.  So I lost to Stuart the second game too at 1:2.  But I guess I was happy to have scored at least one goal.  It was a fun game.

   Yesterday after the rain finally stopped, we went outside to play with the water puddle.  Connor did not like the boots initially after I put them on, but he agreed to keep them on as I told him we were going to walk in the water.  Logan did not care to join us, he was just content with his umbrella.  Connor was tame, did not splash the water; we just held hands and walked through the long strips of water puddles multiple times.  We finally stopped and had to change out his pants and socks.  We then took a walk down the street, and ended up meeting up with few neighbors there.  Logan and Dylan played very well together, both holding their play guns and running around for pretend shooting.  Connor was holding either a toy gun or an umbrella, and was following the big boys’ lead.  The adults would jump in and played with them at times.  The boys played for at least over an hour; they were good, thanked and said goodbye to each other when it was finally time to go home.

     Friday was Logan’s third Little Gym class.  I gave Logan some grapes and a kid bar during the ride over; then I dropped him off with Stuart in front of the place.  Connor and I took off to Costco for some pick up and shopping.  According to Stuart, it took probably 15minutes this time before Logan joining in the activities, so Stuart watched him through the window the remaining of the class.  We wonder if Logan had too much sweets prior to the class this time, as he seemed to be too hyper to sit still.  During the sit down group time, he did not stay with the group too long and drifted to the side to play on his own.  For the remaining of the class, he followed some instruction, but most of the times, he played on his own at another area.  Even though he had fun, for the future classes, we definitely need to encourage him staying with the group and following instructions. 

    After dinner Logan got a small amount of ice cream as promised; both boys were so happy with the special treat.  They played for awhile before we started the bath, so It was a later bedtime than usual.  Wonder if it was too much sweets or the added activity and stimulation, Logan was whiny at bathtime and bedtime.  It was like that last Friday too; so we will have to think about doing some modification for the next class.
