We just signed Connor up for swimming lessons; he is now in a class 15 minutes before Logan’s.  For the past couple of days Connor did not seem too excited about the class, but today he did not seem to mind.  Even Logan was fine when he was reminded that it was swimming day, which is not always the case.  As we were all off for President’s Day, both Stuart and I took the boys to the class today.  We arrived a bit early, and the two boys were happy in their trunks waiting for class to start.  When it was almost time, Connor stood by the door waiting for his name to be called.  He looked quite serious and he told Logan not to bother him when Logan was being silly around him.  He went in with the teacher, he followed the class all the way to the far end of the pool and took off his slippers.  The teacher gave him a hand to walk into the pool.  He looked a bit timid but was following instruction.  A couple of minutes later, he looked a bit sad sitting on the edge.  But before long, he seemed happy again, and he looked over to us with a smile periodically.  The kids played around in the water, picking up toys, dipping their faces in water.  Once we saw that Connor was dipped into the water which he did not seem to enjoy but he recovered quickly.  At the end of the class, I met Connor and the teacher at the shower.  Connor was still shivering in the warm shower but was smiley.  The teacher was happy to share that Connor did very well following what she asked him to do.  Connor told me he had fun too and did not mind returning to class weekly.

     Logan had fun as well.  He was smiling a lot during the class.  He was still trying to avoid putting his face in the water unless the teacher was working with him.  At the end of the class, the teacher told Stuart that Logan was doing better and was less timid today.

    Both boys were tired at bedtime from their exercise, Connor suggested reading only two books and Logan did not disagree.  Both of them were rubbing their eyes while I was reading.

     We brought several things to do at the park to play on Sunday, and Connor picked the soccer ball.  He enjoyed kicking it back and forth with me.  He tried his best using his legs to stop the ball and he had fun working on his soccer stand.  He was very patient and dribbled all over the park following me too.  When I suggested that I should sign him up for soccer lessons, he did not seem to mind.

    The next day Stuart wanted to take Logan out to teach him tennis while Connor wanted to ride his bike, so we divided and conquered.  Connor also wanted to play soccer ball, so he and I packed up and rode his bike to the elementary school.  He had fun with the soccer first, then we played at the playground to “exercise” according to Connor.  After a snack, he hopped on the bike again and we rode to the nearby high school tennis courts to meet up with Logan and Stuart.  To my surprise as it had been at least an hour, they were still playing Tennis.  According to Stuart, Logan got a little bit frustrated initially when he kept missing the balls.  But after changing up the drills a bit, Logan got more into it and had some good hits too.  Stuart and I decided to play a little bit while the boys took a snack.  Logan volunteered to come back to the court and hit some more.  He and I switched off a few times before we all headed home.

   To add to their exercise this weekend, Connor wanted to try a Wii fitness game.  He was quite diligent doing the different activities.  Today he wanted to play that again and he got Logan doing the exercise with him too.

     Robyn and Michelle bought this fun event from Groupon to celebrate Kathy’s and my birthdays in January.  We finally found a date that worked for all of us and a painting that we all like.  Kathy picked me up in the afternoon and we met up with Robyn and Michelle at the location.  We were all excited, and looked forward to an afternoon hanging out and painting together.  While we were there, we were served wine and snacks too.  The instructor gave us step by step instructions, and everyone in the room paid close attention and had fun painting.  The evening was fun, relaxing and of course we had the great company of each other.  Before we knew it, we were there for three hours.  The amazing thing was that everyone in the classroom left with a beautiful almond tree on their canvas too.  Thank you to Robyn and Michelle for this nice treat!

   When I came home and showed off my work to the boys.  Both Logan and Connor were amazed that I painted it.  Logan even made a comment that he wants to make a painting too.

     Connor was very excited about Valentine’s Day for over a week now.  He had been counting down to this day.  Last night, he was happy to write his name on 19 Valentine’s cards to give to his classmates.  Logan, on the other hand, did not care to do that; he claimed that they were not told to bring cards to exchange.  But when he saw some cards with Ninja Turtles on them, he wanted one for his buddy Colton.  Then he decided to write one for Brennen, Noah and Collin too.  He insisted that he did not need any more for others.

    After school, both boys had tons of things to take home.  They had made some school projects including a decorated paper bag to hold all the little gifts from their classmates.  They were happy to look through their collections as soon as we stepped out of their classrooms.  Later at home, Connor was proud to show us his work while we just found the ones from Logan in his backpack.  I made one of the boys’ favorite dinners and we had a little treat afterward, a red velvet cake.  The cake was yummy, but Logan was not into it or he was too tired, he only had a few bites.  He wanted to take the bath and fell asleep within minutes after his bedtime reading.

     It was rainy today and we did not have any plan.  So we decided to pay a visit to the mall.  When we passed by Color Me Mine, and I persuaded the boys to go in to paint some dishes.  Both Logan and Connor seemed interested, and they wanted to do the work without help.  I tried to direct them as much as I could especially with Connor.  I probably did not need to rush as much as I did, but I was afraid their interests would be gone before the pieces were done.  The boys actually stayed quite content for an hour there.  Overall they might not be our best work but they would definitely be originals.

     It has been awhile since we met up with the "Mommy and Me" friends, but we were able to finally meet up at Nalini’s house on Saturday.  We were bringing pizza and some homemade sweets to share, and Logan exclaimed "this is an awesome night".  The boys were not strangers and warmed up quickly to Nalini and Viyona, and they just started playing together which gave us a chance to catch up with the parents.  Connor later wanted to do some arts and crafts with Nalini and he was very focused sitting there for a long time.  Logan wanted to eat pizza while Connor was still working on his project.  Later Alex’s family arrived and joined us.  We all had a chance to talk more as Josh ended up staying with the kids and entertaining them.  Connor had a small incident of a nose bleed but we did not how it happened.  By 8:45pm we finally gathered the kids to take a group photo before we headed home.
