The boys were excited for their dental appointments today, especially Logan as he wanted to have his wiggly teeth checked out.  They patiently waited at the lobby and then followed the hygienist in to sit down without any hesitation.  Connor relaxed happily on the chair with the headphone watching the ceiling TV while Logan followed the hygienist to have xray taken.  Logan was afraid to bite down on the films initially but he had the job done after a little encouragement.  When two other hygienists came by to start cleaning, both kids became less relaxed.  Connor turned down her request to clean his teeth.  She and I tried to talk him into opening his mouth voluntarily but we failed.  So the hygienist had to resort in forcing her way to clean his teeth.  Eventually Connor started crying and stopped only when the cleaning was done.  He did not care for the fluoride either; he did not dare to swallow and ended up drooling for a little bit.  Logan did not enjoy the cleaning either.  He was squirming the entire time while his teeth were cleaned.  The hygienist had to almost beg him to re-open his mouth a couple of times to finish up. 

     Afterward, the dentist came by to examine the boys, and they both were cooperative for this part.  As I was looking with the dentist, I noticed now that Logan’s two new front teeth are showing behind his current teeth.  Since the wiggly teeth are not directly over the new ones, the dentist suggested that I bring Logan back in if his teeth do not fall out on their own by April.  Dentist also suggested more careful brushing deep inside Logan’s mouth as his first set of permanent 6-yr molars have fully grown.  Connor’s teeth had no issues.  Both boys had no cavities, so they received their certificates and balloons at the end.

     Oops, I did it again; I messed up the event timing once again.  It was Bar’s birthday party at a gymnasium today, and we arrived right on time based on the time I had, but we were an hour late.  I totally blamed the Evite App as it showed the wrong time (since the beginning, not related to DST), but I took responsibility for not checking the emails this time and had forgotten to forward the evite email to Stuart like I usually do.  Once we realized my error, I was so upset, embarrassed, and disappointed while Stuart was not pleased either.  I showed our friends my App with the wrong time.  The worst thing was that Rohan did not want to join the party as Logan had not arrived, so he was standing by the stairs for nearly an hour.  We got the boys ready, and they, including Rohan, joined the rest of the party for the remaining 20 some minutes on the gym floor.  All three boys had fun doing every part of the obstacles, but both of ours skipped the swing rope.  Then they were escorted over to the foam pool where they played for a few minutes before they gathered for the group photo.  Afterward, the kids got washed up and sat down for pizza.  Connor and Rohan both looked for Logan to sit down with him.  Each of them had two slices of pizza; Connor and Rohan had some strawberries too.  Connor looked forward to the cake afterward, but Logan was not interested.  The three boys played with each other some more at the toddler’s corner until the party was over.  They had such a good time that I wished we were there on time. 

P.S.  Stuart did google the issue and learned that quite a few people have complained over the months about the Evite App incorrectly reporting event times.  I will be deleting the app from my phone and relying solely on the website from now on.

    After nap today, since we still had a lot of sunlight, we took the kids out for another round of bike riding and let them played at their favorite playground.

    We were invited to visit the Meron’s newly remodeled home on Saturday.  The boys were excited to take an earlier nap/quiet time, so we could arrive shortly after 3pm as planned.  Rohan’s family had just arrived along with two other families/friends of the Merons.  The boys made themselves at home immediately and joined the other kids to play.  They did not come see us much except when they wanted food.  But we did see all the kids a lot as they ran through the circle around the house frequently.  Connor was smiley and often said hi to the parents when he passed by.  He was playing tags or hide and seek with the boys often; other times, we saw him playing “family” with the girls.  He once walked through the house calling “mommy?”, I went up to him, but he told me he was looking for the pretend mommy.  In between playing, they also had a chance to watch the movie Frozen too.  The adults got to relax for hours; we chatted, ate and drank.  It was a great time.  When we finally left to go home for the night, both boys told us that they had a lot of fun.  Logan said he played with the boys and Connor claimed he played with everyone.

     Last week when Logan complained about not able to bite into a corn on the cob, we did not think much of it.  Today he complained about eating an apple again.  So I took a look, and found that both of his bottom front teeth are wiggly.  We can’t believe Logan is loosing baby teeth already.  After I told Logan about what’s going to happen, he initially was excited about it as he said one of his friends have lost four teeth.  But later he got worried; he was concerned how he knows when the tooth falls off, especially if it happens at school.  I am happy that the boys’ dental appointment is next week, so we can have the dentist examine him.

     We attended Marcus’s 4 year old birthday party at their house this morning.  The boys were excited about the party since we told them about it a few days prior.  Connor immediately wanted to draw him a card and helped me wrapped the present.  He also requested “Let’s talk about Marcus’s birthday” a lot whenever we drove this weekend.  Once we arrived, the boys warmed up quickly and ran around the house playing with each other mostly.  After more people arrived and when the truck was ready, we all went outside to check out the theme of the party, RC cars with the slot track setup in a truck.  Logan and Connor watched the birthday boy along with a few other kids showing us the first round of racing.  All the kids had fun.  After that, we decided to get some food as the boys were hungry.  We had some tacos, then Logan first and later Connor tried their turn at racing the RC cars.  Both boys enjoyed it for quite a while and then returned to the house to play.  We did not really watch the kids, but I think Logan and Connor played with many of the boys at the party.  They must have ran around a lot as they both were slightly sweaty whenever we saw them.  We sang to Marcus and everyone enjoyed the chocolate ice cream cake.  Connor was jealous that my piece was larger than his initially, and later he even told me “Mommy, I want this cake when it is my birthday!”.  We played some more, and shortly after 2pm, we felt that we should take the kids home for a nap.  With the late night last night, Logan felt asleep during the drive, but surprisingly Connor was wide awake and still said “Let’s talk about Marcus’s birthday”.  

     We met up with one of my old friends yesterday for dinner Saturday.  Cheuk and I have not seen each other for probably 20 years now; he and I used to wait at the restaurant together while we were in school.  His 12 year old son is a professional contemporary dancer and is an elite protege for a dance group.  They had a workshop and showcase at Santa Clara which was the reason for the family to come up.  So we met up at a nearby restaurant to have dinner.  We had a chance to meet one of their daughters Sarah who is 17 years old.  Sarah is very good with kids, and within few minutes, Connor bonded with her and wanted to move next to her at the table.  She ended up helping him through the dinner and Connor enjoyed some new foods just because she suggested them.  He even successfully used the adult chopsticks to take a few bites from her influence.  Later Connor even told her “I love you”.  With Connor’s “new friend” there, Stuart and I were able to have a nice chat with my old friends while we had a good meal.  Meanwhile, Logan was quite quiet during the dinner as he was enjoying his show on the phone.

     My friends got us some VIP tickets for the dance show, so we decided to go watch part of it.  The boys were very excited, and they both had fun hanging out with Sarah too.  It was fun to be taken in to the backstage with their elite passes.  We waited and chatted some more until the show started.  Their son Sean came down to meet us briefly too.  The boys were thrilled to be seated in the ballroom with relatively good seats.  The show had loud music, high energy and very engaging.  There were varieties of contemporary dances, groups and solos; they came on stage quickly one after another.  The boys were totally entertained by the performance.  Sean finally came on stage with a group of dancers; it was a lot of fun watching them.  After his dance, we sneaked out of the ballroom, as we had pre-arranged, as it had already past the boys’ bedtime.  We said goodbye to my friend and we headed home to end the late night.  As we were walking out, we were all energized with the dancing spirit.  We asked the boys if they would like to dance like that, Connor immediately said yes and Logan said no as he did not want all those people watching him.
