For the first time, the boys had their games at the same time and location which was much easier for us and we could be there for both.  Stuart got volunteered into watching the game timer, so he had to stay at Connor’s game the whole time and just eyed over at Logan’s periodically.  I moved back and forth from the two games whenever possible to watch the boys.  Connor was very active in defending; he was doing a great job guarding closely with two arms up.  Other than that, Connor did not seem to be as eager at other positions so he did not have possession of the ball much at all.  However Stuart shared that Connor got a rebound and attempted a basket while I was away.  Logan’s team had assigned positions, and his favorite was #2 (point guard).  With this position, he could finally have the possession of the ball to drive it down the court.  He did ask the coach to be assigned to it and he did a good job that one time I watched.  He dribbled the ball back and forth to avoid the opponent, but sometimes he passed it a bit too short to get to his teammates.  While I was at Connor’s court, I looked over to Logan’s court and saw a basketball being made.  From the angle of it and Logan’s gesture, it looked like it was from Logan but I could not be sure.  Then I got the confirmation after seeing the coach gesturing good job to Logan.  Too bad that I did not see the basket entirely but I was very excited as this was Logan’s first this season.  Logan was pleased with that too.

    The boys were very happy to return to CDC camp last week.  I think their main attraction was the other kids who were at camp there as well.  Logan and Connor were prepared with their Yu Gi Oh cards and were happy to see the few boys they knew on Monday morning.  They reported enjoying the daily activities there too.  There was a field trip on Thursday and the destination was the beach at Capitola.  We knew it would be cold, so the boys both wore trunks along with a jacket.  At the end of the day, Logan said he had a great day.  He did not get himself too wet as he mainly stayed playing with sands, building and battling their castles with other boys.  He did say that it was very cold and he had to use the towel around himself too.  Connor on the end said the day was only average.  He was unhappy that he did not get to touch water.  But after some questioning, it turned out that Connor was too busy playing with sand and ended up missing his groups opportunity to go play with water.  We were glad that the boys made it home without any issue from the field trip. 

     Now the summer is coming to an end.  The boys will be heading to YMCA for their last week of camp tomorrow.

   On Sunday, Maxim came over to play in the morning.  Logan and Maxim had not seen each other for almost the whole summer, so they were quite happy to play with each other again.  Connor also enjoyed hanging with Maxim, so all three boys had a good time.  With the free time we had, Stuart was able to wash our cars while I cleaned up the boys’ schoolwork / homework from the past year so we can be prepared for the upcoming year.  Three hours went by fast; the parents came over to pick up Maxim.

    On the same day, Vrinda called to tell us that Rohan asked to come play with Logan.  Since we had planned to go swimming in the afternoon, Rohan came along with us.  Rohan can swim fine from the lessons he has been taking, so Stuart and I had no problems hanging out with the three boys.  Logan and Connor have been able to swim a short distance lately, so all of them had a good time swimming together.  We were there for close to 1.5 hours before we came home to clean up.  Vrinda and Nanda arrived to pick up Rohan but they ended up staying for awhile to chat.  The boys definitely had a fun day playing with friends and swimming.

     The boys completed another week of camp at YMCA; this time it was a Lego Build, Mine, Craft, Galaxy Wars camp.  The kids were divided into big and small kids, so Logan and Connor were in separate groups during the camp activities.  They shared with us each day what they had built, and they really enjoyed this camp.  On Friday Connor came home to share another good news; he was chosen to be the Camper of the Week.  According to Connor, after they announced him and called him up to the front, he had the opportunity to pick a staff to have a bucket of water pour over her. 

     At the last dental appointment, Logan was told that he might have a cavity.  So on Saturday, I took Logan back to the dental office for a preventive restoration along with putting sealants on all other molars.  They recommended giving nitric oxide for Logan to breathe so he could be more relaxed.  Thanks goodness for the gas.  This was probably one of Logan’s most cooperative days on the dental chair.  The dentist and the assistant did a good job talking with Logan too.  They had to have Logan open his mouth wide, they drilled on his molar briefly, cleaned the surface, put the sealant on it and shined the laser light on it.  It turned out that the cavity was not significant, so they did not need to do the restoration and just put on the sealants.  I held Logan’s hands to prevent him from interfering, but other than that, Logan did fine and was barely wiggly.  They continued to work on the other three molars.  The only complaint Logan had was that they were blocking the TV for the movie of his choice, Goosebumps.  The job went fast and we were done in less than 30 minutes. 

     Stuart and I planned to attend Vicky’s wedding banquet last Saturday, and Michelle kindly agreed to watch the kids for us.  We arrived at the their house around 5:30pm; the kids were off to play with Mckayla and Marcus immediately.  We hung out with Ted and Michelle for a little bit, then we had to head out to the banquet.  The wedding banquet was huge; apparently there were 600 people.  We were situated with my cousins at a table.  As soon as we settled down, Stuart became the chosen one by a 7 year old boy who talked to Stuart almost non-stop for the evening.  He told Stuart jokes and shared all his likes and dislikes.  The Chinese banquet served the food slowly throughout the night as we expected, but we were entertained by some wedding activities in between each course.  Some of the folks started drinking some hard liquor; since I was able to be the designated driver, Stuart could partake too.   Later the dancing began, Stuart and I joined the crowd to dance a couple of songs.  More food was still coming, but by 9:30pm the last course, fried rice, was finally being served.  By then, even though the wedding cake had not been cut, we decided to quickly say goodbye to some people and sneaked out before we were way too late to return to the Kaos.

    Throughout the evening, I was also being entertained by the photos Michelle shared by phone; the boys were having a great time there.  They had the opportunity to play with Lucky, the dog, who the Kaos was babysitting.  Connor was even lucky enough to receive an early birthday cookie.  He had the cutest smile on his face.  When we arrived at their house, the boys did not really want to leave since they had so much fun.  But we had to say thank you and packed up to end this late night for everyone.
