Movie Day

We planned to watch Finding Dory on Sunday.  Logan initially said that he did not want to go to the theater and wanted to stay home with Stuart.  But after learning that Rohan would join us, he changed his mind.  On the drive there, Logan asked to sit next to Rohan and Connor wanted to sit with Logan.  We met up with Vrinda and Rohan at the theater.  Surprisingly the theater was relatively quiet on this Sunday afternoon.  We got popcorn and situated ourselves in good seats quickly afterward.  It was an adorable movie and we all enjoyed it.  Rohan and Vrinda came back to the house with us, so Rohan could play with the boys.  The three of them stayed quietly in the game room taking turns and playing XBox the whole time.  This was a fun afternoon for them.

New Monopoly game

We bought a Monopoly card game for Logan’s birthday since the boys were into Monopoly board game.  Once we learned how to play this game, we have been addicted to it, and playing it most nights of the week.  As in with the traditional Monopoly, this card game is based on some luck, but it also requires some thinking and strategy, thus Stuart and I like it.  The boys are quite good with it and often win the game.

Revised Game Room

Stuart mounted the new TV on the wall last week.  We had chosen the opposite wall of the room for the TV, therefore we had to rearrange some of the furniture and toys.  We are happy with where the TV is now.  We certainly need to do some decorating of the room one day too.

Camp San Jose

image     Logan and Connor were at the Community Center for camp this past week.  They enjoyed the early morning free play; they made Beyblades with Legos and battled with other kids.  Throughout the day, they had other activities.  The boys especially liked the version of dodgeball that they played at the gymnasium.  They also had a short field trip on Wednesday afternoon to the a community swimming pool.  I was worried how they would like that, and once again they did fine.  Logan apparently enjoyed wearing the life jacket floating around.  Stuart mentioned that Logan was so chatty at pick up telling Stuart about the field trip.  On Thursday, Logan also came home with the “Camper of the Day” certificate.  He was happy and proud to share the news with us, but he later mentioned that he actually was crossing his fingers hoping not to be picked as he did not want attention.

After this week, Logan mentioned that this was his favorite camp thus far, however Connor prefers CDC more.  They will be going back to CDC for next week.

Dental Appointments

Posted By Bonnie Comments Off on Dental Appointments

The boys had their regular dental checkup on Monday, so I took off from work early to take them.  They both were excited to go as they remembered that there were iPads to play and movies to watch.  The new thing there now is that each kid could pick the own movie to watch.  Connor is looking forward to watch the new Finding Dory, so he picked the Finding Nemo.  Logan immediately asked for Goosebumps as soon as he saw it; he stated that he could not watch it any other time since Connor is afraid of it.  When we were brought to the exam room, the boys started watching the movies.  Logan was brought to have Xrays taken first.  When he came back, he had a little tear in his eyes; he said something hurt the inside of his mouth and he almost gagged.  The rest of the exam, Logan was more wiggly, and he almost refused to have certain things done.  On the other side, Connor just sat quietly on his chair, having his teeth cleaned and watching the movie.  The dentist told Connor that his two front bottom teeth are starting to move, and the Tooth Fairy might visit him by the start of school.  Logan unfortunately has a possible cavity, so the dentist suggested that we make an appointment to clean out the top of that molar and put sealant on it as well as on other molars.  The boys were happy to pick a toy and return to the iPad while I waited for the appointment to be set up.  When everything was done, I rushed the boys out the door and on our drive home.  Minutes into the drive, Connor remembered that he left his little prize toy next to iPad and he ended up shedding some tears for it.

Gathering at the Kaos

Posted By Bonnie Comments Off on Gathering at the Kaos

Last Sunday we headed over to hang out at the Kaos.  Stuart and I went straight to the kitchen to chat with Michelle and Ted, while the boys gathered in the family room to play with Mckayla and Marcus.  Later Robyn, Peyton, Jennifer, Jesselyn and Jayden arrived to join us.  We snacked for awhile and finally the kids asked to go swimming.  All the kids plus Stuart and I got ready and jumped inside the pool.  Logan felt comfortable as soon as he realized that he could stand in part of the pool.  Connor had fun playing in water while holding on to either Stuart and I.  All of us played with water guns or just swam around.  Later Dave and Brandon arrived and Brandon went into the pool as well.  After quite a long time, slowly one by one, we came out and cleaned up.  The kids were hungry and filled up with snack, then immediately went inside the house to play.  Then it was the adults’ turn to snack and to enjoy the yummy BBQ taco meal Ted made for us.  At some point, the kids were gathered to enjoy some tacos too.  After everyone was stuffed with food, the kids returned to play inside the house and later migrated out to the backyard.

Michelle was kind to have suggested celebrating Logan’s belated birthday during this gathering.  Logan was surprised to receive some awesome gifts from the Zhangs and the Tsaos.  He had already broke into the gifts and played with some of them.  When the dessert time came, Logan was a bit shy with the cake, the candles and the happy birthday song.  He was embarrassed with the attention, but could not stop smiling.  He blew the candles and everyone enjoyed Logan’s favorite chocolate cake.  The kids went back out to play to burn off the sugar.  Before the end of the gathering, Mckayla also took out a present from the Kaos for Logan; she even took time to show everything to Logan.  We had a wonderful time on Sunday as usual and Logan was also showered with all the pleasant surprises.
