Logan has this week off from school, so we put him in the local community center for the winter camp.  He was not too thrilled initially and stated that he would rather stay home to play games.  He was slightly grumpy on the first morning getting ready, but once we were on our way there, he was fine.  When we arrived at the room, Logan and I walked around to check out the toys on the table.  He settled with a Guess Who game; while the camp instructor showed him how to play the game, another boy joined in.  Logan seemed to be engaged, and so I said goodbye and excused myself.  When Stuart picked him up at the end of the day, it appeared that Logan had a good day.  He even complained that Stuart picked him up too soon as he did not get to go down to the gym with the remaining kids.  He also told us that he made an alien with 4 arms with clay.

    Today we got to the community center a bit later, so there were more kids there by then.  Logan looked around, found a good place for his backpack among the many other ones, then he said bye to me and settled down to play Lego.  He however did come out to me twice to say some random things before he finally stayed in the room.  This afternoon when we all went to pick Logan up at the gym, he was in a huff which was very unusual.  The extended care instructors came to tell us that he was fine playing with Lego until they came down to the gym.  He decided that he did not want to join the few kids to play and stayed on his own by the side.  Later we finally got some words from him that he wanted to continue to play Lego.  But we are still not quite certain why he felt so strongly about what he played today.

    Tomorrow they will be going to a field trip to San Francisco Exploratorium, and Logan is quite excited about it.  He has already reminded me that I have to get their breakfast ready early so I can drop him off on time as instructed. 

     We all had President’s Day off today, so we went for some exercise, tennis, in the morning.  After some warm up, Logan was hitting quite well, making contact most of the time.  He has been using a two handed swing lately which made him slightly stronger.  We have been asking him to stand further back from the net.  Connor is quite patient at the court.  He would stand nicely waiting for balls to come his way or for us to drop balls for him to swing.  His swings were big and quite smooth.  When he actually had a good contact and a good hit, he would hold his pose there for at least 10 seconds with a proud smile.  He was funny.  Later he told me that he had good hits because he is a Power Ranger.

   Tonight Logan had basketball practice as usual despite it being a holiday which was fine with us.  Connor was interested to go, so we supported Logan there as a family.  But most of the time Connor was out in the playground with either Stuart and I playing with a basketball.  He is doing better with dribbling; the longest run was 53.  He tried to steal the ball from me and vice versa.  He made up some crazy games to play at the playground with the basketball.  He also showed me his hopscotch skill too.

    Tonight at dinner, we asked the boys their current favorite sports to play.  Logan and Connor both came up with the same sports in the same order.  1) Tennis, 2) basketball, 3) soccer.

     Another one of Logan’s baby teeth finally came out today which would be his third.  This lateral incisor had been wiggling for several weeks now, and it was finally hanging by the thread.  He has been tempted to put his finger in his month to play with it.  Today as we arrived home, Logan went to the bathroom to wash his hands and came out to tell us that the tooth just came off.  No bleeding and no pain.  Hopefully the tooth fairy will arrive tonight.

    It has been awhile since we hung out with the Gopals and the Merons, so today was the day.  We leisurely hung out in the house and the boys got their dose of video games before we headed out to the Gopal’s.  As soon as we arrived, the boys went off to play with Rohan, Bar and Raz.  The adults sat down, caught up and enjoyed some Indian snacks and lunch.  The kids chased each other with toy weapons inside the house, and later out to the yard.  But before long, they asked to play with video games.  We could delay game time only until the boys got some food in them.  The rest of the time Logan and Rohan were buried in the games while Connor, Bar and Raz would play other things on and off.  We saw Bar and Connor playing hide and seek in the backyard on their own for a couple of rounds.  A few hours later, we decided that it was time to go home, and both boys fell asleep quickly during the drive home.

     We were so lazy this year that we barely made it on time to have the boys prepare their Valentine’s cards for their classmates on Friday.  Logan got his done on Thursday and Connor wrote his on Friday morning  Fortunately they write fast these days.  After school, both were happy to show us all the cool cards/gifts they collected from their classmates.

    We don’t usually do much for Valentine’s Days, so I did not prepare anything for the boys.  I actually was surprised to receive three beautifully handmade cards from my men on the morning of Valentine’s.  So I felt that I should do something, thus I made some little heart shaped brownies for our dessert that night.

    Connor loves playing with one of our new board games, King of Tokyo”.  He often asks to play it after dinner, but his mood can quickly change afterword.  If he does not win or if the game ends sooner than he liked, he whines or even cries.  He would look genuinely sad.  We tried to let him know that his whining would discourage us from wanting to play it again, and as a result, we would ban the game for a few days.  Connor has begged once “Mommy, please, give me another chance!”.  How cute that was!  So we played, however he cried again but he tried to hold back and hold out his hand to shake with me.

    As it was rainy this weekend, we spent more time in the house and we played some older games, Uno, Chutes and Ladders, Sequence as well the King of Tokyo.  Connor did his best controlling his feelings and did great.  Even Logan was helping him, one night after King of Tokyo, Logan whispered to Connor “Don’t cry, ok?”.  Connor is now shaking hands and saying “Good Game” with a smile after the games.  He is proud of himself too!
