A couple of weeks ago, my pharmacy team had a virtual party.  For those on site, we could go to the suite first to pick up a nice box of lunch and take a few photos with the photo booth before returning to our computer for the virtual party.  The theme was black and white, so many of the us dressed accordingly.  I was having a vision issue back then and happened to schedule a dilated eye exam the same morning.  This was the worst dilated exam I ever had and my vision was so blurry for hours after. Thus I had to say the timing of this eye exam took away part of the fun time for me for this work party.  But overall it was still nice to see some of my work friends in person and took a few photos.

     It was time for Logan to get the 2nd phase braces, and I chose to have it be initialized on 12/21/21 (first day of the winter break).  Before this big day, Logan really did not want to go through it again and felt that his teeth is good enough after the first phase.  Eventually Logan has accepted the fact and went with the flow.  He had an appointment last week for all the impressions and X-rays.  The big appointment on 12/21 was 2 hours long where he had both upper and bottom braces installed.  The staff said Logan did great and dealt with it well throughout the process. 

    It was quite tough afterward when Logan could not really eat well and the teeth were very sore.  By the 2nd day, Logan’s attitude improved a lot, did not complain much, and did not even want any wax.  He said he would tough it out so the gum would get used to it quickly.  He has been careful following the dental advice about what not to eat.  The cleaning part is hard too, and I am assisting him a bit on it so far.  Logan is definitely dealing with it very well; hopefully one year of it, he would be all done.

   Stuart’s employer has created and invited the employees for a holiday drive through in Mountain View, so Stuart signed us up for last Saturday evening.  Part of the drive through was cool, but the themes were sort of random and not too festive.  However it was still nice to get us out in an evening and gave us some good laughs while driving through it.

    This year we had no turkey run again; since the weather was so nice, we decided to take the boys out for a short game of golf.  Logan did not have a good start; he was frustrated and deflated.  Few holes later, Logan turned the corner and had some better hits.  Connor had a good day; he took his time, listened to our advice, and made some nice hits.  I am happy that we were out there getting some practice.

    While the boys played video games, Stuart and I went for some tennis.  Afterward, we also managed to have some board game time.  We played one of my favorites, Terraforming Mars, while dinner was being cooked.  We had a simple but nice ham dinner and followed by some Charlie Brown Thanksgiving episodes. It was a lovely Thanksgiving!

     I am proud that I finally finished this task.  We got the new fence in August, thus now was a good time to get them stained.  It was a tiring job; it took me few hours on 3 different days to have the job completed.  Having a sprayer did help a lot.  I am glad that I was able to finish the last few panels with the remaining of the stain today, so I could wrap up this whole task.  It felt great to clean up and put everything away.

  We have been waiting and finally the vaccines are now available for 5 to 11 years old.  I made the appointment for Connor on Veteran’s day morning since he was off from school.  The wait at the tent there was a bit frustrating, but once it was our turn, it went smoothly.  Connor was very nervous but was surprised how quickly the nurse gave him the shot and how painless it was.  The next 48 hours I had given Connor some pain meds prophylactically.  We were thrilled that Connor did not complain even once after the shot and that now he is on his way to get good protection.
