Connor was so obsessed with trains and going to Rohan’s house this weekend that he drove us crazy.

     On Saturday we rode the light rails for fun in the morning, and the boys were very excited with the train ride.  They enjoyed sitting in the train and looking outside.  We stopped at downtown and shopped around, then hopped back on the train to go to the mall for more walking and to have lunch.  When we returned home from the whole adventure, Connor immediately asked to ride the train again.  He even woke up from a nap asking for trains too.

     As soon as we told the boys about going to Rohan’s house on Sunday, Logan was so happy that he gave me the biggest smile and was extra cooperative prior to the visit.  Connor was so excited that he kept asking non-stop about it since 6:30am.  On the drive over to their house, the two of them talked almost the entire way deciding who would be in which team for their play.  The three boys, Rohan, Logan and Connor, started running around in the house as soon as they saw each other.  When the girls, Bar and Raz, arrived, they went outside to play in the bouncy water house.  Logan and Connor were the last two to jump into play as expected but they all had fun.  Then they returned inside the house to play and eat.  Logan basically hung out with Rohan most of the time while Connor played with everyone.  A couple of times we heard Bar said “Connor, come upstairs with us”, and Connor immediately dropped what he was doing and said “ok”.  The day was quite relaxing that we ended up staying until 5pm before we headed home.  Connor never showed any tiredness from the 6.5 hours of playing and from the skipped nap, and he did not even fall asleep during the ride home like Logan did.  As soon as we left their house, Connor started asking when we would return to Rohan’s house already.

     Shortly after we woke up this morning, Connor began asking to ride a train and to go to Rohan’s house.  We decided to go to Oak Meadow park in the morning and Connor was drawn to the choo choo sound as soon as we arrived.  So he and I went for the ride while Logan chose to go play at the playground.  It was a long line due to the holiday, but Connor did not mind waiting at all.  He looked very content yet serious during the anticipation.  He was excited to finally get on the train and waved to everyone.  He was especially thrilled when we were surprised by Logan and Stuart waving to us during our ride. 

     Connor finally stopped asking to go to Rohan’s house when I told them that we would be going to Mckayla and Marcus’s house in the afternoon.  The boys were cooperative to take a nap or have quiet time so we were relatively punctual with our meeting time at the Kaos.  We swam in the pool for awhile.  Logan had fun playing with the water shooter on the side of the pool, but finally asked to go into the boat.  Connor did not mind coming into the boat right away, and later even asked to be at the front of the boat to drive it too.  He had fun kicking around, but he was the first to ask to come out of the water.  After cleaning up, Connor wanted to ride his bike which motivated Marcus to ride his same bike too.  The two of them rode around in the tennis court for awhile until the dinner was served.  All the kids sat together at the kid table to have pulled pork burritos.  They were talking silly to each other that they had such a great fun.  We attempted to change their topic of conversation but was not very successful.  We had some yummy dinner on our own while the kids moved on to play inside the house.  Connor came out to see us periodically and played us some music with the toy keyboard.  We called it a night at 7:30 so we could go home to get ready for a school day tomorrow.

    Connor has finally stopped asking for the train or to go to Rohan’s house after such a busy day.

     Our Kindergartener and our Preschooler started their first day of school today.  Connor got cold feet this morning, and started crying and did not want to put on his uniform. He also kept asking to see one of his teachers at the old school Appleseed.  We finally managed to get Connor convinced and got everyone ready to go.  With a little more traffic than expected today, we arrived only right at the last minute before kindergarten class started.  I did not really have a chance to spend time with Logan before his teacher had him put away his backpack and sent him to sit down.  I snapped a picture, then Connor and I were on our way to his classroom.  Connor used all kinds of tactics to delay, but we made it to the classroom eventually.  He held on to me very tight and started whimpering when he thought I was leaving.  There was a kid who cried so loud while many other kids were happily playing.  I hung around for several minutes to show Connor different toys, then he wanted to use the bathroom.  I assisted him a bit but he managed to use the facility nicely.  A couple more minutes later I decided that it was time to depart; the teacher held on to Connor and he cried as expected while I said goodbye.

     Upon pick up at end of the day, Connor was happily drinking water at the fountain.  The teacher reported that Connor did good all day; he cooperated just like the rest of the new students too.  He used the restroom well as needed and ate his lunch too.  He proudly walked out of the classroom with me after saying goodbye to the teacher.  He was excited to pick up Logan who was in the cafeteria playing a game by himself.  Logan gave me a hug and we left altogether after cleaning up.  Logan also reported that he had a good day; he said he liked the teacher and he named a few friends who he played with again.  He also said he enjoyed going to the cafeteria to have lunch with everyone.  The only thing that I did not get a clear answer from him was whether he was able to go to restroom and put his uniform properly back by himself or not. 

    Overall a good day, and we hope it will continue tomorrow.

      From not knowing how to swim a year ago to accomplishing a triathlon today, Dora did an amazing job.  She completed her first triathlon in good time and exceeded her own expectations.  She even had moments today where she really enjoyed doing the race.  This will definitely be the first of many for her.  We are so proud of you Dora!

    Connor was very motivated today.  He saw Logan demonstrating to us how he tumbles, then Connor wanted us to show him.  We helped him a couple of times and taught him how to tuck his head in, then he kept wanting to practice on his own.  Only a few more times, he was able to tumble quite well.

    This evening when we were taking our walk, Connor asked to get on his push bike and be pushed by me as usual.  At some point, when I suggested him to try peddling, he was more eager today.  He suddenly got the hang of it, and was motivated to keep doing it.  I had to help him with some pushes periodically without him noticing them as he wanted to do it himself.  He was really having a good time, and especially when he was going faster downhill and giggling.

    Ten years ago today, Stuart and I met outside of a Starbucks.  Can’t believe that it has been such a long time and we have done so much together throughout the years.  We are certainly in a different stage in life now and we have definitely aged a lot.

     After the orientation, I took Connor back to the daycare for his last day.  We came prepared with some cupcakes to thank all his teachers for their love and care.  Connor was happy to bring in the boxes with me, but he just wanted to eat them.  I convinced him to wait til snack time with all his classmates.

    After school, I went to pick Connor a bit later than usual, so his class teachers had left for the day.  We gathered all his belonging, and said goodbye to the principal who came over to give Connor a hug.  We took a final picture there and said bye to the school that Connor had spent the past year.
