The past couple of weeks Logan has broken from his solid sleeping pattern (8pm to 7am).  We are hoping that his last two molars, which are still to arrive, are the reason for this change.  He has been crying out at around 11pm or 1am and then a few times on and off.  Sometimes it will take like an hour to get him completely fall back to sleep.  Another change is that previously when Logan woke up, he would sit quietly in his crib for a little while playing with his pacifiers.  But nowadays, he cries out “momma, momma, momma” until we go see him.  The funny part is whoever goes into his room, he will start asking for the other person.  So when he sees me come in the momma, momma, momma will turn into daddy, daddy, daddy.  He can also be quite loud sometimes.  Maybe Logan is just trying to prepare us for the sleepless nights ahead with the new baby.

On the positive side, Logan loves school.  He has been getting many compliments from teachers when he has good days there.  When I pick him up at the playground, Logan always runs over to me with a big grin and is excited to say bye bye to the teachers.  We will run back to his homeroom to pick up his bag and he will walk like a big boy to the car.  But right when he should go inside the car, he will suddenly want to return and say “play play” while pointing back to school.  Sometimes it can take some convincing to get him into the car. 

Stuart called Logan a “stick in the mud” yesterday.  Logan has been having a cough on and off these days, the last couple of days were worse again, especially overnight and in the morning.  He may be dealing with a mild cold or having some teething problem (his last 2 molars are due to be out).  Due to the cough, we decided to cancel some fun outings and just do something more local.  We went to the local library and ended up making the “Storytelling Time”.  Logan was more reserved in participating with sound making or singing/dancing, but he did dance with the song “Turn Around”; it was a fun one.  In the afternoon, we went to the park.  He usually loves the park; but again he was less interested.  He would  rather play with his ball instead of playing in the structure.  He also got huffy easily.  If he tripped, he would get mad at the ground or grass and just stayed down with a puffy face.  For dinner, he was also more picky, rejecting his usual favorite foods.  Will see how he is today.

Scottie has been a Cheung for 15 years now.  He had gone through a couple of hair cuts, some weight changes, and has lived in a few different homes.  He changed from a feisty little kitty to a lazy content old cat.  As usual, he loves drinking tap water, having weekly tuna treats, playing string with daddy, hanging out in the yard with us and napping on our laps.  Happy 15th Birthday to Scottie!  We love you!

Logan is more chatty and can say more words these days.  He can point out things he knows in books and also interesting sights while we are driving (like buses and planes).  He can repeat to us quite a few words now and the way he whispers the words is very adorable.  For the first time yesterday, he strung multiple words together.  He loves watching Thomas the Engine lately.  After a show was over, he looked up and asked for “more choo choo?”.  Later on when he and I were looking for daddy, he copied me to say “dada, where are you?”  It was a funny moment.

Bad news from school today…Logan bit someone =(  It occurred when another toddler tried to take a toy away from him.  Hopefully this is not going to be the start of some bad behavior. 

   We had the ultrasound this morning and we would finally see if we were correct in our intuition that it would be a boy (Stuart’s family is weighed heavily toward the XY Chromosome)  However, everyone has been convincing me that since this pregnancy is very different from the first, it would be a girl. 

   When I was carrying Logan, the entire pregnancy was very smooth and easy.  I had some foods that I could not eat during the first trimester, but overall I felt great with no symptoms.  This time, I was having more discomforts.  I had a constant headache that lasted around 2 months (finally ended a couple of weeks ago).  I could not eat many things…even drinking water was difficult at the beginning.  I also felt more headachy and heartburn after eating most of the times.  The only thing I liked to eat was bread which ended up pushing my blood sugar a bit too high. 

   So with this experience being so different, I had in the back of my mind that maybe it would be a girl after all.  They say you should always go with your first instinct, and this is no exception :)  It is now official that Logan will soon be having a little brother.

   As of today, we are at 19th week and fourth day; Logan’s brother is due on August 6th.  To mark today’s special event, Logan learned how to say “brother”.
