Crate–Free Nights

Even though Buddy had a good routine every evening to go into his crate and did not seem to mind to sleep there, Stuart and I decided that it might be time to let him be free at night.  A few nights ago we led him to his crate but without closing the gate before we proceeded going upstairs; a few minutes later, Buddy discovered that the gate was open and later he moved onto sleeping outside our closed door the rest of the night.  The next few nights, Buddy had already learned and just followed us up to upstairs.  The past 2 nights, we left our bedroom door opened just in case for Connor (more on that), Buddy proceeded to come inside our room and just laid next to our bed to sleep.  At least he had learned not to bother us until we are awake the next morning.

Haircuts

It was time again; both boys’ hair were long and messy.  Thus last weekend we did their hair again.  The boys did not mind as they knew they could play on their phone while cutting.  The sessions were long this time; I spent at least one hour on each boy, one on each day.  Stuart also helped with the razor part for Logan.  I kept Connor’s hair long as requested by Connor, but Stuart thought that I should have cut it shorter.  Logan’s looks alright now, much shorter and cleaner.

Golf

We attempted to go to the short course to play last weekend, but it turned out the course is no longer a “walk up” one and requires reservation.  So we went hiking briefly just to be less disappointed.

We tried again on Wednesday and were able to play late afternoon.  The weather was great and it seemed safe out there with the precautions.  Stuart was not thrilled with the type of swings the boys had learned from the camp, but they did seem more independent out on the course and knew what they should do.  They had some good hits and some not too great ones that made them say they did not like golf, but fortunately they both ended with a good tee off at 9th to save the day.

Tennis

We finally made it out on the courts last week.  There were many other people but we managed to find a court.  It had been months since we last played, but somehow Logan was able to get the hang of it quickly.  Connor over time got his swings back too.  It was fun playing tennis again.

Logan’s Birthday last week

Logan was quite excited for this birthday; he was talking about this date starting few weeks before it happened and counted down to it.  The only thing he asked for was to play lots of video games.  He got what he wished for plus some presents from us and some gift money from families too.  Connor knew that Logan wanted to buy a rank in his Minecraft game and he was so happy to give Logan a cash present to help him get what he wanted.

In the afternoon we also went to swim at the pool.  Logan had the dinner that he wanted and we ended the day with our favorite ice cream cake.  The boys were also going to have a sleepover in the game room; even though the party ended and they actually went back to the own rooms to sleep, they had some fun together.

Back to Swimming

In mid June, the cabana has opened up with restriction.  So we could start making reservation to go swimming.  It is nice to have this opportunity to spend some time in the pool on hot days.
