BBQ at Rohan’s

Rohan’s parents invited Bar’s family and us over for a BBQ, and they had a small bouncy house / water slide set up in their back yard too.  Logan and Connor were not interested in water play and rather stayed in the playroom in the house.  After some convincing, I changed both of them in swimsuits so they could join the other three kids.  Logan ended up playing with the water shooter for a little bit, but did not want to get wet on the slide.  Connor did not care to even get near the bouncy house.  Eventually all the kids migrated inside to the house to play with toys and later to watch a TV program.  The kids all played well and had fun.  Sometimes the three big kids, Bar, Rohan and Logan hung out together while Connor and Raz followed each other, then Connor might run around with Rohan and Logan while Bar played with her sister Raz.  The adults were able to sit, eat and chat outdoor while taking turns checking on the kids.  Connor liked to coimageme out to see us periodically; he would be bringing a toy with him each time, either a small Lego soldier, a huge toy gun, a car or a VTech reader.  It has been a week since Connor saw Raz; they must have missed each other as we witnessed them just sitting together to play and talk.  Rohan’s parents told us that they are worried how Rohan will do without Logan in school starting next week, as they’ve been school buddies since they were just babies.  The two of them enjoyed each others company so much that I found myself saying “Lohan” by mistake twice when referring to them.

It finally became quite dark outside so we had to wrap up the evening.  Logan asked if he could stay longer to play, and Rohan asked Logan if he could stay and have a sleepover; too bad that we had to break up their fun party for the night.
