Today was Logan’s turn to have his school performance.  Before today, we had asked Logan multiple times about what he would be doing at his upcoming performance, but we always received silent treatment.  After Connor’s yesterday performance, Stuart and I did not have high expectations for the one today.  We both got out from work early again and arrived at school before the show time.  We chatted with some parents while we waited outside of the kids’ classroom.  At the start time, the teacher, Ms. Diana, peeked through the door to make sure all the parents had arrived and also informed us how excited the kids were.  We then were led into the classroom to take our seats.  After introduction, the kids came in orderly from the courtyard and lined up in front of audience.  When Logan walked by us, he had his signature expression and arm stretch that signaled “I want you”, but he remained in his place along with his classmates.  The teacher sat down in front of the group and the kids began to sing.  Everyone was singing and doing their movement; some looked very excited and happily singing, and Logan was probably one of the least energized ones.  But they all were doing a great job following the teacher’s lead.  After each song, Logan would stare at us with his arm stretch again just briefly before he moved on to the next song.  They sang a total of eight songs.  It was a great show; big applause followed their performance.  We were amazed how well everyone did and how organized it was.

    After the show, while they were sitting down for a group picture, they received a surprise visit by Santa that many of the kids, especially Logan, were thrilled.  They took turns to have pictures taken with Santa, and they also received a candy cane each.  Then the parents were given a gift from their child which was a self portrait of themselves.  Afterward, the kids played with each other for a bit and eating their candy canes while the parents tried to take some more photos.  Logan was excited to try the candy cane, but he disliked it immediately after only one lick.  We then said our goodbye and thanked the teacher, and took off to go home.  We told Logan how much we enjoyed his show, and he told us that he was sad as he forgot to give Santa a hug.
