Nearsighted Logan

Logan had his 6 months follow up on the eye check up today.  I was off with the boys while Stuart had to work.  I decided to take them to Costco as I needed to shop for groceries to make dinners for the holiday.  Costco’s was crazy crowded as expected, but we were ok once we managed to park our car.  I had the boys writing and crossing out our shopping list which kept their interests the entire trip.  We had planned for an earlier lunch so I could get Connor down for a nap.  I also wanted to take a break as I started feeling under the weather.  I then sneaked out to take Logan for the eye check.
Logan fell asleep during the ride to the hospital, so we did not get to talk much about the exam.  He cooperated quite well with the automated machine by staring at the "balloon" inside.  He even did fine with the puff of air blowing into his eyes.  He then sat nicely at the exam table and was ready.  He drew a blank when the eye doctor asked him the read the first three lines, but it turned out that he was quiet as he did not know "words".  The doctor clarified that he should just read the letters, then he answered as asked.  I started noticing that he could not read too clearly and start making mistakes as the letters got smaller, worse on one side than the other.  He answered nicely, "I like the first one", "Ya, this one is better", "They look the same", "I can’t see them, they are too small", or "They all look like squares".  The doctor confirmed that his nearsightedness has gotten worse and eyeglasses are now justified.  I was sadden by the news as Logan is so young, but I definitely did not make it obvious to make Logan worried too.
I called Stuart to share the news while checking out frames with Logan.  Stuart and I decided to take Logan back for another exam just to confirm the situation and just in case Logan did not use his best effort during the exam.  Stuart and I will bring Logan back tomorrow.  We can also then look for a more suitable frame for Logan too.  Poor Logan!  He will be starting to wear glasses even earlier than me :(
