Short Visit to the Grandparents

Logan has a fall break this week, so we made plan to visit the grandparents.  Unfortunately over the weekend I had to attend a viewing and funeral service for a relative, so we postponed the departure until Sunday afternoon.  Stuart had taken only 3 days off, therefore our trip was shortened.  The drive down south went well, and we arrived in time to enjoy dinner with the grandparents on Sunday night. However Grandpa was not feeling well that evening, but fortunately he felt better in the morning.image

The boys have learned a bigger range of games so they had even more fun playing with the grandparents over this trip.  Logan wanted to play chess with Grandpa, and Connor loves to follow his lead so wanted to play chess too.  The boys played chess, checkers and Domino with both grandpa and grandma.  They also built Lego, Lincoln Logs and train sets with them too.  The boys drew a lot during this trip as they loved showing off their drawings to the grandparents.  One afternoon, we also took a moment to take some family photos in the backyard and the pictures turned out quite well.

Other than our excursion to Disneyland on Tuesday afternoon, we got to hang out with the grandparents and have some nice bonding time.  We packed up Wednesday afternoon; we said goodbyes to the grandparents and drove home.  The return trip was smooth as well and we made a last stop near home to grab a bite for dinner.  Overall this was a very short trip, but it felt very productive.image
