I was so happy that I had a four day weekend to enjoy my birthday. I had taken the Martin Luther’s King birthday Monday to be with the kids. We had a relaxing day.
On my birthday, Tuesday, Stuart and I walked the boys to school then we got ready for our golf day. We decided to try a close-by golf course and we made a tee time at 10am. We loaded up a golf cart, warmed up a bit at the putting surface, and we were ready to start. We were paired up with a retired guy; he was quite familiar with the course and gave us tips for each hole. This was a very interesting course with many different terrains and beautiful scenery. Each hole was so long that many times I could not even see the flags. Fortunately the course was more generous to the women with their woman’s tee much closer and less difficult. Over the entire course, we lost many balls between the two of us, but we really had fun and enjoyed the challenge. Driving through the course with the cart equipped with GPS was entertaining too. I was surprised that I made it through all 18 holes and I was happy that I had some good hits as well. I really need to work on my putting game though. We were finished 4.5 hours later despite no waiting at any hole, and it was close to the time to pick up the boys. We were starving and exhausted by then. I took a powernap before taking the boys to their martial art class (more on this class later). Afterward, we headed out for dinner. My first choice of restaurant was closed on Tuesday, so we went to our 2nd choice and enjoyed a good meal. We topped it off with a birthday cake for me at home. I was so tired at the end but it was definitely a fun day.
