Connor had mentioned one of his favorite sports was golf a few months ago, so the grandparents gave a set of golf clubs to Connor for his birthday. Since then, Connor had practiced with them twice in the backyard. Connor listened to the instruction Stuart gave him carefully and he would take his time with his swings. Yesterday we decided to take the boys out to driving range to try hitting real balls. They both enjoyed it. Logan was less patient following instructions and keeping his pose, but he improved his swings overtime. Connor took his time; his swings were quite full and had some great hits. I took some clips of their swings. They did a great job in my opinion. We also learned yesterday that there are some kid lessons at the driving range over the weekends, so we might check those out one day.

After driving range, we went to play tennis too. The boys did well, especially Connor. He was like an energized bunny, running around all over the court getting the hits. He did not even care to take a break, and we played over an hour.

On Wednesday, Connor and I were talking about his second wiggly tooth on the way to school. He w
as showing me how wiggly it was and telling how he wished it would come out at school since he could go to the office for that. Lo and behold, when Stuart picked the boys up from school, he learned the news. Connor told us that the tooth came out when he was eating grapes at lunch, and one of his classmates Amber volunteered to walk Connor to the office. He brought home the tooth in a little keychain tooth holder that he loved.

While I attended a service and worked a few hours afterward last Sunday, Stuart took the boys to Barnes and Nobles. Connor got the idea of cookbooks in his head, and was so excited to find a kid’s one there with Stuart. He was happy to show me the book he bought when I came home, and he also requested to make a few of things. With his good memory, he kept reminding us everyday to buy the ingredients. One night we finally made some popsicles together. He was proud to share his work with us, and he enjoyed them greatly himself too.

Right after our big camping outing, the very next day Stuart left to Indianapolis for a four day trip. The three of us managed to survive while Stuart was gone, but the week felt long. The boys were happy that I dropped them off to school by car rather than walking them, then I went to work. It was a very busy work week and my daily goal was to leave on time. I was picking the boys up usually 5:30-5:40pm, and they were complaining that I arrived too late yet sometimes they did not seem to want to go. Each night we just had something simple or I had picked up some food for dinner. Logan already had some homework, mainly reading, so we tried to have Logan read while I was preparing dinner and trying to keep Connor occupied. For a couple of nights, we watched some Olympics highlights, other nights they played on the laptops for a bit and we played King of Tokyo (board game) before bedtime. We were so excited when Stuart finally came home late on Thursday.
