I took Logan to his doctor appointment on Monday.  He helped me read and answer the health questionnaire, then we were called into the exam room.  It did not take long before the doctor came in.  The doctor talked with Logan and asked some questions, and he answered fine.  The physical exam went well, and Logan had a chance to listen to his and the doctor’s heart too.  At the end he got stickers and a wrist band for himself and for Connor too.

     The big day was on Sunday.  Both boys were very excited to have a joint birthday party.  We had invited their mutual friends and three friends each from their schools.  We chose the theme “Superhero” for the party as both Logan and Connor like playing the Marvels Xbox game together.  That morning we decorated the house with Superhero banners and balloons.  I put the final touches on the bite-sized desserts and plated out all the food.  Stuart went to pick up the cake and got the barbeque ready.  We were all set for the party except the bouncy house had not arrived at the time they promised.  I finally reached the delivery guy and was given an apology that he would be late.  Stuart and I were a bit stressed with that; by then, the first few families arrived.  Fortunately, the kids were occupied playing together inside the house and did not even notice that the jumpy house had not arrived.  The delivery guy finally came and had the inflatable set up, so we sent the kids out to play.  They seemed to have fun, but slowly one by one they returned to the house as it was hot out.  The rest of the time, the kids were just dispersed all over the house, some even were up on the slope in the yard for a little bit.  The kids took turns coming for snacks or popcorns, and after the adults had eaten, we decided to bring the kids down to have lunch.  Logan and Connor were joined by two friends to dine in the yard under the umbrella while the rest of the kids sat nicely in the family room to eat.  Quickly after they ate, they returned to the jumpy house to play.

     Later we gathered everyone again for cake this time.  I wanted to take a group photo, then another one with them wearing the masks we bought.  The kids were cooperative with my demanding requests.  Then everyone sang for the boys; Logan was a bit shy from that.  Some kids enjoyed the cake while others ran back upstairs to play.  At some point, we noticed a bunch of kids were chasing Big Ian and pretending he was the bad guy.  Ian was so patience with all the little kids.  Two and half hours later, some guests started to leave.  Connor was happy to give them the party favors that he and I had prepared. 

      Both Logan and Connor really had a great time at their party and with their friends.  They were also very excited to look at the presents they received.  They gathered all of them together, and they took turns opening and admiring each gift.  Logan was especially happy as he received something he really wished for, Minecraft items.  For the next 2 to 3 hours, the four of us went back and forth from playing at the jumpy house to putting together the Lego presents during breaks.  The boys played tags with Stuart inside the bouncy house for a long time, then I was tagged in to take his place, and we played “chaos tag” and “toilet tag”.  I was tired but actually had a great fun running around with them.  We made great use of this bouncy house.  At the end Logan also finished putting together the Minecraft Lego all on his own, and Connor also built a Star Wars transporter with help from Stuart.  We all were exhausted from the days events and called it a night earlier than usual.

     We spent part of the morning preparing for the party the next day.  Then we headed over to the club for some barbeque and the holiday festivities.  We ate, then the boys swam around for awhile.  They enjoyed taking turns swimming to Stuart and I was able to capture some videos.  Later the pool games began; the first game was the “coin dive”.  The boys were happy to see on the edge to watch the action.  Six and younger kids jumped into the pool first after the whistle and dived for coins.  It was cute watching the kids working hard to find coins.  Later the slightly older kids jumped in to help.  The next game was the “greased watermelon”.  A group of dads was recruited to play against the lifeguards; when everyone was ready and the crowd was excited, then the organizers realized they were missing the watermelons.  So the festivity had to be put on hold; the crowd along with the boys returned to the water to swim in the meantime.  Finally the competition started.  The teams were very into the game and were quite aggressive getting the greased watermelon.  The team of dads threw the watermelon to the opposite end of the pool three times and won the competition.  The boys enjoyed watching the action.  By then, we had been out of the sun for a couple of hours, so we convinced the boys to shower up and go home. 

     For the late afternoon, we initially considered going to the July 4th festival at the lake park and possibly watching the firework.  But Stuart and I were honestly feeling tired being in the sun.  Plus we did not want a very late night with the upcoming morning party, we decided against going.  We went out to enjoy a quiet dinner at a restaurant instead and picked up some final items from a store for the party.  When the night came, the boys started looking everywhere for fireworks and they were disappointed that they could only hear but not see any fireworks.  They did end up playing with glowsticks and staying up for a late night.

    Michelle took some incredible photos of the boys while they were swimming.  They are so cool and I love them.  We showed them to the boys tonight and they enjoyed seeing themselves in the water too.

     Stuart, Connor and I had the day off, but Logan still had his summer camp.  The plan was for Connor and I to do some grocery shopping after dropping off Logan, and Stuart had some home repair chores to do.  The day went by quite fast especially when Costco was crazily packed that it took us longer to get through our shopping.  After the three of us met back up at the house, had lunch and took a break, we were out to watch Logan’s summer camp “end of the week show” for the parents.  We found our seats at the gym, and Connor was looking forward to finding Logan.  Shortly after the camp leaders and the campers marched in while chanting their logos.  We saw Logan and Rohan walking in following their leader; they both smiled and waved to us.  The next thirty minutes, few kids from each age group stood up telling the audience what they had learned and done during the week.  At the end a few of the camp leaders also did a short skid before the kids were dismissed.  Logan led us to the art room and the science room to pick up his projects this week.  He made a trolley and a cart, and he made a nice watercolor drawing of a seal. 

    Afterward we drove up to the Kaos for swimming and dinner.  The boys were off to play with Mckayla and Marcus as soon as we walked in.  We then got ready to get into the water to join Michelle.  We all had fun playing in the pool for a long time.  Logan was excited to play with the water guns, but did try doing some swimming.  He was happy when he discovered that he could touch the ground in the shallow end.  Connor was eager to swim and did his best.  Michelle patiently taught him how to dive down to fish toys out, and he listened and tried.  He was excited to pick out the first couple of them, but later he got lazy and just wanted me to drag him down below to fish the toy out.  Other time, Connor was happy sitting on the floater letting Mckayla take him everywhere.  Logan finally felt a bit more comfortable and attempting to sit down on the bottom of the pool too.  After a long time in the water, we cleaned up and got ready to have some barbeque by Ted.  The kids were off to play, so we ate first.  I heard Connor saying to the kids “I am going to dress up like a princess.  Who wants to be a knight?”  Mckayla was happy to assist Connor; they had fun.  Finally Logan came to ask for dinner, and the four of them sat down giggling while eating their food.  Afterward Marcus wanted to practice skateboarding, and Stuart got on and played too.  Mckayla practiced a bit, and later they convinced our boys to give it a try.  Connor was ready and he felt quite relaxed while Logan immediately tensed up after one step on the board.  Mckayla was a good coach trying to teach Logan what to do.  He managed to try a couple of minutes before he called it done.  Connor enjoyed a few more minutes before they all quit and off to play other things.  By 8pm or so, we had to pack up to end this fun day.

     Logan had asked once why he did not get to learn piano too, so I signed him up and the first class was on Monday.  Logan seemed interested over the weekend before the lesson, but by the time I picked him up from the summer camp, he preferred to go home instead.  Once we arrived at the Rec Center, Logan was ok and was curious.  We walked into his room and he picked a piano to sit down.  The teacher went over the class information and then the parents were sent outside of the classroom to wait.  So I went to pick up Connor from school and we returned together to pick Logan up.  Logan claimed that he had a good time.  The problem of not being in the class with him was that I have no idea how Logan did, and with a different lesson book, I am not familiar what he was taught.  Another issue is that I don’t know what I was thinking, because now instead of having to remind one kid to practice, I have two.
